“Be a safe surfer” – Article from the RCN

The Royal College of Nursing recently posted an article about the implications of using the internet and in particular, the use of social networks.

“The popularity of social networking sites has led to huge amounts of information being shared about many aspects of our lives. But in health care concerns over the misuse of such sites has led the RCN to publish advice about how to use the internet safely.

Employers are increasingly aware not only that staff use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter at work, but also of the comments they make online. While many employers are reasonable about the personal use of the internet at work, there is growing recognition that its misuse may be detrimental to the organisation.”
